Nana Owiredu Wadie distributes school bags, uniforms to Nkwatia D/A B Basic school

The KABAKA Foundation, a non-profit and Charity organization, through its founder and Chairman Nana Owiredu Wadie I, who as well holds the title of Nkosuohene (Development Chief) of Nkwatia-Kwahu, in the Eastern Region, has distributed over 500 school bags and school uniforms to Nkwatia D/A primary school.

The donations form part of Nana Owiredu Wadie’s first anniversary of his coronation as the Nkosuohene of Nkwatia – Kwahu.

Speaking in an interview with, the Executive Director of the KABAKA foundation, Dr Henry Larbi added that it is Nana Owiredu Wadie’s vision to support school children in the Nkwatia area to ensure that all manner of children will have the opportunity and good environment to access quality education.

The chief immediately after his coronation as the Development Chief, renovated the same Nkwatia D/A Primary school and re-roofed the entire classroom blocks of the school. Books and dustbins were donated to the school last year to help ensure cleanliness and effective learning.

“It’s been a year since Nana Owiredu Wadie was coronated as the Nkosuohene of Nkwatia. His first work was the renovation of the Nkwatia D/A Primary School, and we also donated books and dustbins to aid their learning. It’s a year now, and he decided to come back to the same school he started with. We’re giving them school uniforms and school bags. We’re doing this to ensure that children can go to school. Most of the time, school children will tell you they don’t have school uniforms and bags and that’s the reason why he or she didn’t go to, so Nana Owiredu Wadie is doing this to support the school to have a reason for going to school and learn. We’re distributing over 500 school bags and uniforms but when we came, the JHS 3 have completed school so we began the distribution from Kindergarten 1 to JHS 2”.

Dr Larbi hinted that it’s in the plans of Nana Owiredu Wadie to adopt the Nkwatia D/A basic school and turn it into a model school and make sure at least one public school in the District will be one of the best schools in the region.

“Nana Owiredu Wadie has plans of adopting the Nkwatia D/A B Basic school and turning it into a Model school. We’re looking forward to having at least one public school in Nkwatia to be a top school, because most times people would say Public schools do not give the best of education to their children, no, we want to assist and make this school a model school. We’re going to engage the school authorities and ensure that it becomes a model school”, he affirmed.

On his part, the Chairman of the KABAKA foundation who doubles as the Nkosuohene of Nkwatia, Nana Owiredu Wadie urged the general public to express love and affection to one another as it’s the only way we can develop our societies.

“We’re here because of love. Let’s examine ourselves, we all need development and that’s why we are here to support our children, the school and, especially the teachers. We won’t have these children without the presence and support of the teachers. Let’s show love and support towards ourselves. We pray that God grants long life and good health and to even do more of these”, he stated.

The Chief Executive of Jeros Company and Construction, Mr Alex Akoto Kwafo donated Gh¢10,000 to support the initiatives of the KABAKA foundation.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Paa Jireh – John Bosco on behalf of the District Education director expressed his profound gratitude to Nana Owiredu Wadie for their immense contribution to the development of the Nkwatia D/A B Primary school.
