NDC Eastern Region:Joshua Alabi Confident Of Victory In 2024 As 49 NDC Aspirants Vetted And Cleared

All 49 aspirants who filed their nomination forms to contest the Eastern regional executive positions in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been vetted and cleared to contest on Wednesday, October 18, 2022.

Balloting was immediately held for their positions on the ballot papers.

The petition for the disqualification of one aspirant was dismissed for failure by the petitioner to provide solid evidence to back his claims.

The 2020 Election Campaign Manager for the NDC also a former flagbearer aspirant, Prof. Joshua Alabi said the process was smooth and successful.

He however urged other aspirants with issues to use internal laid-down procedures to address the same

He is confident the NDC is poised to rescue the country from the ruling NPP.

Chairman of the Election Committee Alhaji Sumaila Mahama said the committee has slated the 22nd and 23rd of October for the constituency elections in the region with exception of some constituencies that have been put on hold for final determination of some petitions.

He said the Regional elections will follow after the constituency elections are conducted.

Some of the Aspirants expressed their satisfaction with the vetting process and also highlighted the reason why they should be voted for to occupy the various positions they vying for in the region.

The incumbent Regional Chairman John Owusu Amankrah also known as Jowark is being contested by Dr Mark Oliver Kevor, a Lecturer, and Bismark Tawiah Boateng, both former Regional Secretary and Regional chairman respectively. Also in the contest are businessman William Atamudzi an incumbent Regional Vice Chairman and Basil Ahiable, a former aspirant.

The Regional Secretary position is being contested by George Mensah Akpalu, a Lecturer, Kudjo Adukpo the incumbent, Baba Jamal former Regional election director of the party and Nene Gerald.

Interestingly, the incumbent Deputy Regional Youth organizer Richard Etornam Nyarko is contesting the incumbent Regional Youth Organizer, Okai Minta for the position.

The incumbent Regional Organizer, Hackman Kabore is also facing a fierce contest from Joshua Atta Mensah, a former YEA regional boss.
