E/R: NDC Youth Organizer Hopeful Donates to Community Hospital Kids Wards in Kukurantumi

Abukwa North constituency Youth Organizer hopeful of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Edmund Kwaku Duah popularly known as ‘Shaker’ has extended his support to the Kukurantumi Community Hospital in the Eastern region as part of his birthday celebration.

Mr. Edmund Kwaku Duah donated items such as buckets of powdered soap, detergents, diapers, multi-surface cleaners, assorted drinks, and other toiletries to support the needy parents in the kid’s ward of the hospital. The youth organizer hopeful embarked on a similar philanthropic gesture last year by donating to three major hospitals in the Abuakwa North Constituency precisely Hawa Memorial Hospital at Akyem Osiem, New Tafo Government Hospital, and Kukurantumi Community Hospital.

Speaking to the media after the donation Friday, July 22, 2022, Edmund Kwaku Duah said “serving the kids ward has just been my passion and I chose the kids wards this year because for sometimes now looking at the hardship in Ghana and the current economic situation, I believe there are parents or newly born babies who have not been able to be catered for and I have seen some in the previous years during donations, so I think the kids are more valuable when it comes to the hospital’s operations.

I believe some people have delivered newly who can’t even afford to pay for their discharge fees so donating diapers and other toiletries I believe will go a long way to help the newly born babies”.

He further stressed that hospitals in the Abuakwa constituency are facing serious challenges. He hinted to connect other philanthropists and NGOs to come to their aid to help improve quality healthcare.

“I am aware that our hospitals have a lot of challenges, especially the major problem being the hospital beds so from now till next year same time my birthday, I am going to write proposals to other donors I believe there are people who see this gesture and are willing to donate in the coming years so we believe next year God willing we will be able to donate beds and even largely do this donation,” he said.On his part, Mr. Addo Kwaku Lartey who is the Assistant General Manager of the Kukurantumi Community Hospital commended the kind gesture of Edmund Kwaku Duah and appealed to other philanthropists to support the vulnerable in health facilities.Source: Mybrytnewsroom.com/Obed Ansah
